Words can't express how good it is to be back!! I know it has been too long since my last post, and there have been so many notable moments in the last year that has to do with perceptions of beauty and media and history. Including many beautiful moments that I think had nothing to do with aesthetically pleasing looks but just as much intrigue and emotion involved. I’m so excited to reminisce about these moments. They run from amazing Oscar 2014 moments to Emma Watson’s stirring He For She campaign speech for the UN and even some light and enthusiastic chatting about the latest Hunger Games movie (because you know how much delight I find in Jennifer Lawrence’s performances, personality, and thoughts). Don’t worry I’ll still present my original contents as well. I haven’t given up on photography and conducting interviews with women and their ideas of true beauty. And about that; I've been considering conducting my Profiles on men as well in order to paint a fulfilled image of what humanity thinks is really beautiful, not the over-saturated media and societal perceptions of beauty. I am not going to lie, I ‘m young and a lot of people who read this blog are young or older and will understand that society and media are such a consuming factors in daily life. I’m not going to sit around and say that I haven’t flipped through Instagram at least once or twice a day and more than a couple times a week. With the amount of media consumption I’m trained for as a byproduct of youth and this generation I’ll give some thoughts for this. I’d like to go on the records and say that just because I’m intrigued by the glamorous life of celebrities doesn't mean that they’re not human too and that I don’t find beauty in the most simplistic of human qualities, which everyone has.
All our actions are only human. The reasons for my absence on this site are pretty much lack of time and yes a bit of laziness, yes very humanistic. This is my second year of college and I just got through most of my midterms and quickly approaching finals for the fall semester. Unfortunately, you will see scarce of me on this blog for a short while but once winter break rolls around this blog will be brimming with content. The past year has been a whirlwind of experiences. I think I really needed the time to reflect and appreciate the rest of my first college year. Hopefully, you understand. I can’t wait to share with you all, this beautiful journey. Did I mention that I’m really excited!!
P.S. Apparently, my freshman year English professor used my blog, the one you’re currently on, as a model assignment for his end of the year final project. I’m very honored by he’s desire to use this as an acceptable media template. And rumor has it, the class really likes it too. Oh boy did that ever make my life! Thank you for all the readers, new and old, who take the time to read about the concerns and topic that pop into my mind.
P.P.S. Happy Thanksgiving weekend! I hope everyone had wonderful and much needed time off to be with family and friends.
